At about 0930 hrs on the 28th August, 1966, the aircraft took off from Weston Aerodrome for a local pleasure flight. Prior to the take-off the pilot asked for the passengers to be well strapped in as the flight was to include a stall turn. About five minutes after take-off the aircraft was seen to the north of the aerodrome flying in an easterly direction at about 800 feet. After making a slight dive it pulled up into a climbing turn to the left; during the turn the bank increased and the aircraft became inverted. By this time it was heading westwards and it continued to fly in this direction, still inverted, for some 200 to 500 yards. The wings were level and it lost height with the engine spluttering until at about 200 feet the nose was seen to rise and fall sharply; the aircraft then fell to the ground inverted with the nose about 45 degrees down. The pilot and the three passengers were killed instantly. There was no fire.
